Paula Deen has three grandchildren, Jack Deen, Matthew Deen and Henry Reed. She has two sons and a stepdaughter. She is married to Michael Groover.
Deen is known for her super rich foods and generous use of butter in her cooking. She has written several cookbooks as well as a memoir and published a food magazine.
Paula Deen got her start in the food business soon after she divorced her first husband, James Deen. She started a catering service, The Bag Lady, making sandwiches which her sons delivered.
In 1996, she opened a restaurant, The Lady & Sons, in Savannah, Georgia. In 2008, she opened a buffet at Harrah's Tunica Casino called the Paula Deen Buffet.
Deen now has her own cookware line and in October 2012, she released a furniture line that includes living, bedroom and dining room pieces.
