The National Enquirer has reported that each of the cast members, including Barry Weiss, makes about $10,000 per Storage Wars episode. Some estimate that Weiss has a net worth of $9 million, which he says he made working in the wholesale produce business with his brother for nearly three decades.
Barry's former cast member Dave Hester is now saying that he was fired after complaining to A&E about items supposedly being planted in storage lockers just before filming the auctions. He also claims that the network paid for “less than photogenic cast members of Storage Wars to have plastic surgery." The cast names and the type of surgery haven't been revealed.
Auctioneer Dan Dotson has denied Dave's staging allegations saying, "We only sell legitimate units on Storage Wars. Every unit goes through a 64-day legal process and no one has access to units prior to auction.”
There's no word yet on whether Weiss agrees with Hester's viewpoint.
