Tommy Flanagan (born July 3, 1965) grew up in a rough part of Glasgow, Scotland. One night, when leaving a pub, a group of people attacked and tried to rob him. He tried to fight back and was stabbed, and from this came his facial scar, a Glasgow Grin.
He nearly lost his life, but survived and decided to become an actor. He got his first big break in the 1995 movie Braveheart which starred Mel Gibson. He's one of the stars of the TV series Sons of Anarchy, where he plays Chibs.
The sixth season of Sons of Anarchy is set to premiere September 11, 2013. When asked how long Ron Perlman's character Clarence "Clay" Morrow will be behind bars series creator Kurt Sutter said this, "That’s a rough one. We’re going to have to play out that storyline a little bit to know exactly where it goes. We’re still kind of figuring out the ramifications of everything in terms of where he lands".
Just in- Flanagan recently finished filming the drama Barking At Trees in London, England. Rupert Hall has been brought on to edit the production. No word yet on when it will be released in theaters.
Sons of Anarchy is making headlines after Jimmy Smits was nominated for the 2013 Critic's Choice Best Guest Performer In a Drama Series award.
